Other Bethesda announcements included Doom Eternal, a sequel to the much-enjoyed Doom reboot, and Wolfenstein Youngblood, a co-operative shooter featuring Jess and Soph, the twin daughters of series hero BJ Blazkowicz. Absolutely nothing was revealed about the title apart from a glimpse at a vast landscape, which suggests that it’s a long way from release. Later in the evening, in a press conference marred by some awkward stage moments and featuring, somewhat bizarrely, a performance from Andrew WK, Bethesda gave its fans exactly what they wanted: the announcement of Elder Scrolls 6, the follow-up to the millions-selling Skyrim. Cyberpunk 2077, from the developers of The Witcher 3, was also shown for the first time. The Elder Scrolls 6 is not the only big unknown factor for this years online E3, though, as there are plenty of other games that were either confirmed not to be featured or others whose fate is. And Jump Force, from Bandai-Namco, pits anime stars against each other in a colourful fighting game. Impossibly stylish demon-slaying action game Devil May Cry, from Capcom, returned after a 10-year absence. Since then we haven't heard really much about any of these two, until tonight when Starfield finally was properly introduced during the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase. Dying Light 2 is a zombie survival game that builds a better story based on choice and consequence on top of the gore and terror of the first game in the series. Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI were both announced by Bethesda back at E3 2018, even though they clearly specified that the latter was just getting started and would be released after the former. Ubisoft’s The Division 2 has players protecting the populace of a ruined Washington DC after a pandemic destroys the US population. Bethesda showed a first trailer for Fallout 76. Will they announce it eventually at next year’s E3? It’s possible but don’t count on it to minimize disappointment.There were first looks at some anticipated games from other developers. While Bethesda didn’t announce anything at all about The Elder Scrolls VI, Todd Howard confirmed however with Geoff Keighley that The Elder Scrolls VI is in development. Apart from The Elder Scrolls VI, Bethesda also announced an entirely new franchise called Starfield. In yesterday’s press conference from Bethesda, many were hoping that The Elder Scrolls VI would be announced but many were dismayed when the conference ended without a sight of the game’s announcement.
